Table Mountain Outing

A lot of people go up to Table Mountain in the spring.

It is a great place for a relaxing drive.

Or maybe a picnic.

Most who take the short drive are looking for the wild flowers.

Many take their kites along on the breezy days.

I usually add music to my videos, but with the current situation I thought readers might enjoy hearing the sound of the wind since many may not have the chance to experience the real thing.

There are a lot of cool features on the top of Table Mountain.

This bridge is just one of them.

The bridge has windows allowing for a view of the creek.

I watched this guy pan for gold for a few minutes before moving on.

Then I saw this fun little mailbox.

This sign marks where a town used to be...

There even used to be a school there.

Now it is a museum.

It actually has been kept in pretty good shape.

Even though I grew up in the area, I only went to check it out a couple of years ago.

I can't believe I waited so long to go check it out.  It is only about a 20 minute drive & pretty cool to see.

I'm glad I finally took the time to go on the excursion.

You can even go inside - it's like going back in time.

Cherokee is another town that was thriving back in the day.

Technically, Cherokee is still there but it is mostly just houses in very rural areas.

There are some really cool things to see up there.

It is well worth the trip.

The old buildings that are still standing are interesting to look at.

It's a great historical outing.

It would be a perfect home school field trip.

What a great way for kids to learn about the area where they live!

There is even a cool old train to look at.

I hope you enjoyed this virtual field trip up to Table Mountain.  Even though it was a couple of years ago when I actually went there, the pictures are still great to look at- and to share.
