National Bible Week- Day 2
So, yesterday I talked a little about Genesis 1:1. I left you with a little cliffhanger to wonder why God made the earth. The answer to this can be found at Isaiah 45:18, where it says, "For this is what Jehovah says, The Creator of the heavens, the true God, The One who formed the earth, its Maker, who firmly established it, Who did not create it simply for nothing, but formed it to be inhabited."
There we have it. God made the earth to be inhabited or lived on. Inhabited by who- for how long? Those are two very relevant questions you may be wondering about. Tomorrow, I will show you where you can find the answer to those questions. They are in the Bible.
Many people love to read the Bible but have difficulty understanding it. I know I did for years- until I was shown how to unlock the secret of deciphering the Bible. Some Bibles have cross references for various verses. You may have noticed these cross references in your own Bible. These references are sometimes designated by small letters or numbers next to the text in the verses. Other Bibles place the references in columns in between two rows of text or beside it at the edge of the page.
If you don't have a Bible, you can read it online. One website has six different translations you can choose from in several hundred languages- even sign language. Another site has more translations in English & Spanish. Hopefully, over the next few days I can help you to better navigate the Bible so you can get more out of your Bible reading.
