There Is So Much To Do At The Old Faithful Geyser In Calistoga, California
In 2016, I had the opportunity to visit the famous Old Faithful Geyser in California. It was a pretty neat place to see. Of course, it is sad that it has been so commercialized, but the attraction is in the middle of a beautiful park-like setting. People often enjoy just sitting near the geyser as it bubbles and spurts almost constantly. About every 15 to 30 minutes, it has a fairly large eruption.
Visitors are welcome to bring a snack or lunch and eat it in the picnic area. There is even a picnic station that is stocked with picnic items such as blankets, games, and even doggie bowls. Picnickers can munch away near the geyser or in a shaded area not far away. After lunch, why not play a game of checkers or bocce? Better yet, spend some time with the animals in the petting zoo.
The museum tells all about the history of the area and various local natural elements. You can learn how the geyser actually foretells earthquakes. Spend the afternoon learning about geothermal systems and their features. There is even a section on volcanos. Check out their website for more information and to see some of their exhibits.
